Privacy policy

Updated 29.10.2026

check-host.org (“we”) provides free tools for checking IP addresses, domains and network availability. We collect as little as possible: there are no accounts, no analytics and no advertising on the site.

Data we process

  • Your IP address. Every website receives it with each request. We use it to show your IP address and approximate location, and as the default address on the IP info page.
  • Addresses you check. IP addresses and domain names you enter are used only to run the check you asked for.
  • Messages. When you write to us through the contact form or request an advertising placement, we receive your name, email, message and the other details you enter. They are delivered to our team in Telegram.
  • Technical data. Our server may record the time of a request, the requested page, the IP address and the browser user agent.

How we use it

  • to run the checks you request and show the results;
  • to reply to your messages;
  • to keep the service secure and prevent abuse, such as automated flooding.

We process this data based on our legitimate interest in providing a working and secure service, and to answer the requests you send us. We never sell your data and never use it for advertising or profiling.

Third-party services

  • Geolocation. Most results come from databases stored on our own servers: DB-IP, IPtoASN, the Regional Internet Registries and the Tor exit node list. To complete the results, the address you check, which may be your own IP address, is sent to ipwhois.io.
  • Maps. Map tiles are loaded from OpenFreeMap, so your browser connects to their servers and they receive your IP address.
  • Network checks. Ping, HTTP, TCP port, DNS, traceroute and MTR checks run on probes of the Globalping network around the world. The address you check is sent to Globalping and to the probes that run the check; your own IP address is not.
  • DNS. To look up a domain, our server queries DNS servers. They see the domain name, but not who asked for it.
  • Protection. The site is served through the TurtleGuard protection network, which processes requests to block attacks and automated abuse.

Fonts, icons and flags are served from our own servers.

Storage and retention

  • Check results are kept in server memory for up to 30 minutes to speed up repeated checks, then deleted. We do not keep a history of your checks.
  • Technical data is deleted within 30 days.
  • Messages are kept as long as needed to answer them and no longer than 12 months.

Your browser

We do not set cookies of our own. The language and the theme you choose are saved in your browser’s local storage and are never sent to us. Details are in the Cookie policy.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to its processing. Send a request through the contact form with the topic “Privacy request”, and we will reply within 30 days. You can also file a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version, and significant changes will be announced on the site.
